| DECES D'UN ECLAIREUR !!! Encore une mauvaise nouvelle malheureusement.... Notre ami Julius Eisner, pathfinder en Normandie au sein du 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne, nous a quitté. Soft landings Julius and merci pour tout ! Final Jump for Pathfinder Julius Eisner, 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne. Mr Eisner trained at Camp Toccoa in late 1942 as a member of F Co./501st PIR. After the 501st PIR graduated from TPS at Ft Benning, there was an urgent need for troopers to bring the 505th PIR up to numeric strength in spring of 1943, when they were about to sail to N. Africa. All the companies of the 501st PIR were 'cannibalized' and a number of jump-qualified men were transferred into the 505th PIR, as Julius. RIP.  | |

| Et dire qu'en voyant cette photo en N/B c’était comme si c’était hier. Une photo vivante en regardant chaque GI's, chaque mimique, chaque geste. RIP à toi et merci pour ce que tu as fait car sans toi et tes frères d'armes, je ne pense pas que je serais en train d'écrire sur mon clavier  | |
